Action Plan

Continue to implement Site Management Plan (Risk Management) which includes monthly inspection of the dam structures, and sampling/analysis of tailings basin discharge to various receiving bodies (lakes). This site is managed in accordance with the Canada Dam Safeety Guidelines. Continue to meet the requirements of CDSG. An ISC Challenge has been initiated to explore potential dam closure options.

Additional Information

This site is the disposal area for fine coal tailings from the former VJ coal washery operation. The sub-aqueous remediation technology was chosen as the remediation measure at this location.
